Waning Moon
Saturn Retrograde
Mercury Retrograde
Rainy and cold
Isn’t this cover gorgeous? This is the cover for my July release, ASSUMPTION OF RIGHT, which will launch the Annabel Aidan name. I’m thrilled with it. The theatre building on the cover closely resembles one of the theatres that was the inspiration The cover artist is Trisha FitzGerald, and I have to say I’m thrilled.
Isn’t it amazing how much one can get done by just asking? I wound up having really good email conversations with my new editor, the publisher, everyone, everything’s all sorted, they’re excited about the book, I’m getting excited again, so it’s all good.
I’m ready to finish the media kits for ASSUMPTION OF RIGHT– should take another day or two — and then I’ll start the campaigning for blog slots, interviews, etc.!
It also means that the second Annabel Aidan novel, THE SPIRIT REPOSITORY, featuring Bonnie, a minor character in ASSUMPTION, comes back front burner. I had to let go of the play for this go-round, but can submit to he same place again in fall, if it’s ready. It pushes the edits for ANGEL HUNT back to June, unfortunately, but the contracted work has to come first. And, fingers crossed on the two other novels already out on submission.
I spent time with students and doing some admin yesterday. Ran a few small errands — bought a spade and some pruners and a spinning copper and crystal piece for the deck. Today, I need to wind up with my students, and maybe have a few days where I can immerse myself in the class I’m taking. I’ve got admin to catch up on for the year-long class.
Mercury is retrograde, so I need to stay low, stay quiet, and hopefully shop for a good deal on patio furniture! I found some relatively inexpensive stuff that will do in a pinch, and then I can replace pieces as I find (and can afford) what I really want. I need to keep everything proportionate to the space and so much of the new patio furniture is oversize and wouldn’t look right.
My back is still a little sore, but much better. The damn cough is annoying. Tried all the wonderful remedies suggested here — it just sits in my throat and is a problem. I’ve got one more thing to try, which should clear all the gunk out of the whole head — red pepper capsules. I haven’t found mine, so I may pick up some more (health store’s favorite customer). They’re good for congestion. I sweat like crazy for about four or five hours, but it blows everything out of the system, especially since I don’t eat a lot of hot food. Most of the head congestion is gone, thank goodness — it’s just this lingering cough.
I finally moved back upstairs into my own room last night (I’d continued sleeping downstairs so as not to keep the household up all night), and slept much better. The cats were happier, too — more room for them!
Okay, back to the page for a bit, and then a dump run. Gotta get this garbage and recycling out and get some groceries in before the storm hits tonight.
Stay safe!
