The session seemed to go really well. I had a woman who really knew her stuff, and we dug around and found problems and fixed them. Better yet, she TAUGHT me what to look for and how to trouble-shoot in case similar things happen (which, fingers crossed, shouldn’t), and how to even better utilize Time Machine’s capacity.

She wasn’t dismissive because I don’t have the technological language to explain what was going on –we just went through the computer, piece by piece fixing the specifics and then treating the overall computer — holistic computer healing.

We’re going to monitor it over the next couple of months to make sure it’s really running the way it should, but I feel much better. Exhausted, my head’s ready to explode, but better and now I feel like I have some solid footing poking around in the computer, instead of just flying blind.

My husband got the run-around from Apple, too, initially. I think they outsource. OR don’t train their techs properly. Who knows. Fingers crossed for you!

UGH on the Trogan thing. I have about two firewalls (I KNOW I only need one) and a virus program–it’s scary how you can unwittingly pick up crap when you surf!

Take some deep breaths, hang in there!
