Bastille Day
In 1985 on this day, I gave notice to one of the worst jobs I ever had (and yes, it was a theatre job). I look at this as my own personal “freedom” day.
I dashed over to Home Depot yesterday morning to re-stock a bunch of cleaning supplies. Did some work in the a.m., headed to acupuncture in the early afternoon. The traffic was dreadful, but the LIE was worse (thank goodness I didn’t have to use the LIE — it’s a parking lot all summer with Hamptons traffic).
Acupuncture was great. The yoga’s made a positive difference, the acupuncture got things moving again, and last night’s yoga session was even better.
Elsa continues to show improvement, so let’s hope she’s completely back on her paws before I leave. It’ll be easier on the cat sitter.
Dru, I’m headed to Prague in mid-September., with Costume Imp, who you met at my release party for HEX BREAKER last summer. He’s in Italy right now.
I’ve got bunch of correspondence to get out this morning, some interviews to set up for next week when I get back, and some research to do at the library for an article. I also need to do some prep for the trip later this week. I had a great writing morning today — worked on two projects, both of which are on fire lately. One is very realistic, set mostly in Scotland. The other starts out and seems realistic/naturalistic, and then takes a turn. I plan to get back to the serial this week, too.
Is the “hold” button on the iPod the one at the top, where you hold it down for a few seconds, and it says “slide to power off”? The guy at Genius Bar showed me how to use that, and I do. As I said, at the workshop, we never even got to turn on the iPod. But the interior of my purse can be rather chaotic.
Off to get a lot done today and tomorrow, so that I can leave on Thursday morning with a clear conscience! I’ll see if I can post from the road — if not, I’ll have other posts scheduled while I’m gone.
Have a great day, all!

on my iPod button on top that when you slide it to the right, orange appears. That’s the hold position.
I hope your day goes well. And that Elsa continues to improve!
