I do a bit of both - outlines, for the most part, stall me completely. I get so caught up in the nuances of it that I just quit. So this time, I decided to envision the ending. The minute I realized how this story was ending, I was able to write with abandon. And thanks to Nano, I'm writing without looking back (another pitfall I'm prone to). The characters are coming off the pages at me and I'm able to let them lead me where they want to go. GREAT article on outlining v. blank paging. It's something I haven't had the pleasure of doing in a really long time - I used to cross-stitch. I miss it. But I just don't have another moment to spare. Maybe some day I can get back to that. My sister used to make presents for the entire family, too. I miss that. I got some really cute stuff from her. So, anyway, what I'm saying is - home made gifts are the best presents.
