Waxing Moon
Pluto Retrograde
Neptune Retrograde
Jupiter Retrograde
Hot and humid
Yesterday was a long day, but a good one. I picked up a book I wanted on my way in to the show. Day work was fine. I mean, it’s day work, I’m doing laundry, ironing shirts, and dealing with dry cleaning. It’s not brain surgery – although there are days when it sometimes feels like it. Dry cleaning was late coming back yesterday, which made getting things ready for the show a bit of a scramble, but it all got done, and everyone looked well-pressed and neat.
My friend Costume Imp stopped by to visit – he’s about to embark on a seven to ten month tour working with the performer of his dreams, so that’s wonderful news! He’s leaving very soon, so it will be crazy, but it’s all good.
Show was fine. One of my actors was a little distracted, because there’s a lot going on for him right now, but that’s why he’s got me there – to make sure the jacket comes off, the suspenders aren’t twisted, all of that. And two other actors I dress are getting ready to leave at the end of the week (five are leaving, total, but only two of mine), so there’s all that transition stuff going on. As much as I appreciate having a quieter show (meaning less frantic, fewer cues, and, most importantly, no rakes or heavy costumes), sometimes I miss having a lot of quick changes.
And then I get over it.
A friend who’s teaching in Thailand is in town briefly, and came to the show last night. We went out to Bar 9 on 9th Avenue (once we found it) and had a good catch-up session. It was SOOOO good to see her! It meant I didn’t get home until after 1:30, but that’s okay – it was worth it. The thing I hate about commuting is that I always have to remain very aware of time.
Cover art discussions continue for HEX BREAKER. Fingers crossed; it’s an exciting process.
Now, to finish that article hanging over my head. . . .

Tee Hee. It sounds like things are going better. Yay!
When will you be able to post the cover for Hex Breaker?
Yes, you do sound happier.
You sound better–and may the cover art turn out the way you envisioned it! I would imagine it has quite a psychological impact for you–when you LOVE the cover art–as opposed to “settling” on it…
Sounds like you had a great time with your friend. Somtimes we really need some friend-time!
I’m very much looking forward to seeing your cover and reading the final product.
You do sound better. Yay! Good luck with the article. I can’t wait to see your cover!
