I question the safety of all financial institutions. I mean, if you tie overdraft protection to your other account, can someone just wipe out everything? Where is that safe?

You just crack me up and I needed that laugh.

Georgie, I hear you on the red jacket buys. What about the comedy club guys...they stopped a huge group and we had to walk in the street.

I find the creative process for writing fascinating. Thank you so much for sharing it.
As for visiting New York, I would some day like to take the kids to see everything that city has to offer, but hubs and I are very low key, so I'm not sure how we'd react. *G*
Maybe your commute will be better today? I certainly hope so.
I wish a good day for you!

Those "red jacketed" Gray Line Bus Tour guys here in NYC, who stalk tourists then pounce on them like a bunch of hungry cheetahs to buy tour packages -- are just as obnoxious in preventing the "locals" from getting to and from their office buildings.

If you want to stop a group of 6 or more people on a busy NY street, why not have the "smarts" to know that you just might be blocking the sidewalk and preventing others from passing??

Anyway, love the name Esmé, Dev. Great name for your character.

Devon, excellent comment about "controlling" every aspect of our writing. I blogged a bit about this today, as well.

I will get to New York City someday... :)

I remember one of my trips to NYC. It was for the RWA conference in 1994. I was the total wide-eyed gawking tourist even though I lived in San Francisco. A group of us took this red bus tour around the city. So much fun. We had lunch down at this waterfront area that looked refurbed. I think it started with an S. I was amazed at all the people and noise. My fave parts though were the shows. We were staying at the Marriott in Times Square. I saw Phantom of the Opera on Wednesday night, Beauty and the Beast on Thursday night and Tommy on Friday night. I was in absolute heaven!

My hubby (then boyfriend who's family lived on LI) and I walked from the train station to Battery Park. It was a long walk, but we saw so much. I remember standing in front of the WTC, a stream of people going in and out since it was a weekday. He wanted to go up, but I was afraid of heights and didn't want to.

We haven't been back since my oldest (now 10) was 16 months old. We're trying to plan a trip. I can't wait to see their reactions to the Big Apple and where their daddy was born (Manhattan). We'll be the family of five looking around in amazement, carrying bags from The American Girl Place and taking pictures of absolutely everything.
