Here's another member of the TURBO TAX fan club. My husby, who's a late-bloomer to technology (despite the fact he's a professionally employed pilot) was very resistant about our move to TT ten years ago. He would never go back to the old hand-calc way.

Good luck with your mom's taxes.

(If it makes you feel any better, mine are not done yet. All of my business receipts are sorted and stacked neatly on a table, waiting for us to come home from Scottsdale to run the numbers. We're leaving on Thursday.)

I used the freebie version online - it's awesome! It asks you questions about your deductions. And you can e-file if you want. If she's due a refund, you can have it direct deposited which is great because you don't have to wait for the check.

LOVE Turbo Tax for each and every one of the entities that I have to report (that would be Consulting, MaryKay, Art, our Sound Reinforcement business and our houshold which isn't simple). Well worth the $ for the amount of weeping and moaning doing it by hand and calculator can cause. Need to figure something out? change a number, hit a button and THE WHOLE THING recalculates in seconds. Literally. I bow down and kiss the toes of Turbo Tax.

I've used Turbo Tax, too, and really like it. I don't liek the price, but hey, it's better than doing it on my own. I am NOT a numbers person. And since we bought the house, everything is more difficult.

Good luck with your confidential job projects!!!

We used TurboTax online this year. For the 4th year in a row. Chris loves it.
Hope you have a good day and that the meeting goes well.

I've used TurboTax for the last 7 years and I've never had a problem with it! I actually do taxes for my whole family (parents and sister/brother in law)every year with TurboTax and it's so easy!

Devon:

Yes, I use TurboTax and it's really quite good. It doesn't allow you to totally switch off your brain, but its prompts and help screens are typically sufficient to walk you through your questions and input.

Good luck to you and your mom,

Hubby and I used Turbo Tax when we were first married. That was ten years ago. I've heard it's SOOOO easy now. It was then, too! You just plug in your numbers, and it's very user friendly, and BOOM, you're done. It does all the calculations for you.

We use an accountant now, because we seem to relocate a lot and with jobs and relo and dual houses, it's complicated. But I highly recommend Turbo Tax, from our prior experience with it.
